I took a quick video this morning. I thought he was going to be a late crawler, because he hated being on his tummy. I guess we’ll need to wrap up child-proofing!

My mom took a Flip video today of Tate and Harper. He luuuuurvs Harper.

Poor guy is sick, has an ear infection in both ears :-( Todd and I are also both sick, although we think it’s a combination of cold/allergies. We’re a sneezy, snotty, mess of a family right now. But, Tate is handling it really super well and is for the most part in a good mood. He’s starting to make some new noises, most notably “yayayayay” so we’re hoping he may get the “mama/dadda” thing soon.

Work is still very busy! Hope you’re all well, have a lovely Mother’s Day weekend!

My dad sent this over and I had to share because I thought it was hilarious.

My father is a bit of an Einstein fan-dude, even though he’s a chemist and not a physicist. Remember that old Apple print ad, “Think Different,” with Albert’s photo? My dad has a print hanging in his office.

Nerd.

I love Albert as well, and he is the orgin of my favorite quote ever: “imagination is more important than knowledge.”

If Tate were to inherit the passion of AE, for anything, it would make me immeasurably happy.

On a side note, I do think that I will be diving back into the blog soon. My new job has been busy, as well as the transition with Tate…and Todd threw his back out so I’ve had two babies in the house for two weeks…

But, one of the many great things about my new role is that I’m expected to keep on top of trends–in fashion, interiors, culture, etc….which makes gathering content for the blog a bit easier. Not that I can share anything specific I am working on for my job, but I gather so much information–my Google Reader and Etsy are two of my biggest resources.

To give you a bit of insight into what I am doing now, it’s an art director role as well as assisting the head of the creative department, who is a fabulous woman I’ve known for quite some time and I have a huge amount of respect for. I’m just taking the opportunity to soak in everything she has to teach me. Just within the first three weeks I’ve pitched concepts (50% of which were chosen!) for a creative, discovered 4 new artists, pulled together trend reports…it’s like my dream job. I LOVE it. It’s made returning to work so, so much easier. I feel so lucky.

I do love blogging and all of you who read and comment, so I’d love to keep up, it will just take some organization and focus. I also just received an email from a former Jez buddy who has a fantastic sex-positive website, who has asked me to contribute to some posts around subjects like lingerie and other things up my alley :-) It will be a nice way to dive back in and try to let people know that I am back and blogging.

Tate turned six months this past Tuesday. Hard to believe. We just had his 6 mo. appointment yesterday, and he’s great. In the 98th percentile for length and 75th for weight. Big boy. He cried for just a few seconds after getting his shots, then was all smiles, once again.

My father also celebrated his birthday yesterday! We’re having dinner this weekend, I haven’t cooked for a group in a long time and, of course, I am super excited :-)

I know things have been quiet. I’ve been very busy with work. I miss you all and hope you’re doing well!

The sun is shining in this photo, but I just heard that a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for this area. Not so sure…the sky is still pretty blue! I am curious how Tate will respond to his first thunderstorm. Loud noises scare him.
