Keri Russel is my twin. Most days I wear something very similar and throw my hair in a bun. Somehow seeing an adorable celebrity do the same makes me feel better about my sloppier days. Do any celebrities mirror your casual style?
I am so thrilled it’s Friday!! It’s been a long week. My boss has been in Hong Kong so work has been insane, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how to potentially expand the blog, and I’ve discovered that I’ve grown out of most of my pants (anyone interested in size 26 jeans?). This weekend I have another shopping date with my mom. I need to mail out packages to Luxe Shop customers, do some laundry and continue to research our kitchen remodel.
This weekend, why don’t you…
- Build a fort? Seriously. We forget how fun forts are!
- Check out Built By Wendy’s new spring line? Totally adorable, of course.
- Dream up a vacation for fall? Perhaps the wine country during harvest, a trip to the east to see the leaves turn, a sunny escape down south…
- Learn how you can ensure you eat locally this summer?
- Check out this incredible hotel in Uruguay?
As always, have a wonderful and safe weekend, and feel free to share your plans in the comments.
Also, a reminder to enter the latest Luxe Giveaway for a copy of Amy Sedaris’ I Like You.
PROGRAMMING NOTE
I am trying to focus a bit more on expanding the reach and readership of the blog; up until now I have, for the most part, gone about my blogging business without giving much thought to reaching out. Like a good student I’ve been buckling down when I can, researching best practices and hunting for advice on how best to expand. I am letting you know as you may begin to see more posts around keeping connected via social media, advertising, as well as surveys and reader demographics.
Please rest assured that I will never advertise or plug for any company I don’t 100% love myself. And as advertising grows and I develop more relationships with vendors, I promise full transparency.
So, to kick things off, the following are some reminders around how you can follow the blog and never miss a great post or giveaway! And, as always, you are always welcome to email me with questions, recommendations, style queries or just to say hello :-)

I was just looking at that Keri Russell pic on Jez. I’ve also been in total jeans and messy bun mode lately. My weekend plans include the bar tonight (yay haven’t been in ages) to play some pool. A family birthday party and maybe start up a sewing project. One of my sisters left an old leather biker-ish coat in my closet ages ago and I’ve been wanting to convert it into a bag. (I’d wear it but its far too large and boxy). Oh and of course catch up on my netflix and dvr’d shows. :)
Best of luck with the blog expansion! I definitely love the style of it and the content. Will for sure be adding you to my blogroll.
Have a great weekend!
I love this picture of Keri! I would say I’m a mix of this and Zooey Deschanel (specially when I do my hair).
Girrrrrlllllll expand your readership! You definitely deserve it. You have an awesome site.
I put in my notice at work so Sunday is my last day there. Its going to be nice to actually have weekends again. In the meantime I have so many errands to run since I am doing a survey job down south. Time to go shopping for new hiking boots!
Somehow I read “Please rest assured that I will never advertise or plug for any company” as a separate sentence from “I don’t 100% love myself” and thought…what a strange, somewhat sad non-sequitur! Then I read it again. Der.
Your blog is such enjoyable reading and so visually appealing that I’m guessing you already have a sizable readership and that it will continue to grow!
i love keri russell. years ago i was on an elliptical machine at the gym and she hopped on the treadmill two machines over and one back, and it took every fiber of my being not to stare at her in the mirror for the remainder of my workout. i wanted to just go up to her and be like, “let’s be friends, please.”
enjoy your weekend!
I think I dress more like Meg Ryan….the cargo pants in army green OF COURSE, tank and flip flops….
have a great weekend
