Happy weekend! It seems that spring has sprung and I couldn’t be happier. I have noticed a distinctive shift in my mood since the weather has improved, how about you? For many of us, there is lovely weekend weather on the horizon, so why don’t you…
- Choose what vegetables you want to plant for your spring garden?
- Make a grilled shrimp cocktail? Pair it with the recommended cocktail sauce or a spicy aioli.
- Go for a walk barefoot in freshly cut grass?
- Go thrifting and sit outside in the sun working on some DIY projects?
My weekend should be relaxing. Tomorrow my mom and I are driving to Napa for some shopping. I made a mix for our drive that I am sharing with you below. I have been wanting to make mixes for my readers for the longest time, so I’ve finally decided to start! Moving forward my friend Kevin will help me with getting all the tracks onto one file for an easy download. For my first mix, all downloads are separate. To listen to a song, simply use the Divshare player, and to download, click on the song’s link. It’s a perfect mix for a lazy drive in the sunshine, I hope you enjoy it :-)
On Sunday I plan on taking some photos for new additions to the Luxe Shop (teaser above). Todd and I have a date at Home Depot to start researching for our kitchen remodel…more on that later!
What do you have spooled up for the weekend? Anything fun?
xo

Happy happy weekend! Today is actually my day off from work. I met up with my friend and her fiance who came down from Santa Barbara for an archaeology meeting that happened to be held near my town. I chose to skip the meetings because I find California archaeology really boring. I’m going out with another friend tonight. Then I get to work all this weekend.
I am loving this spring weather. I’ve been laying out just to soak up the sun. I don’t mean to tan but its been a nice side effect (specially since a tan just makes me look normal instead of ghostly). The extra Vitamin D has been nice
My plan – so far:
Farmers Market – Opening Day on Saturday! I plan on stocking up on all the fresh produce I have missed in the last three months. (the grocery stores just can’t hold a candle) I can’t grow my own – Count one “con” for apartment living…
Yoga! I am finally getting back into regular sessions and the view from the studio should be bright, sunny and perfect for spring.
On Sunday, I get to see my new cousin for the first time (born two weeks ago!)
AND! A friend of mine is in town from San Luis Obispo, it looks like she brought sunshine with her. She’s the best. :)
My most exciting part of the weekend? I’m going to wear a DRESS! The first time this year for me. I’m really excited.
I hope your weekend is just as warm, sunny and perfect.
Is it weird that I’m going to have “Penny’s Mix” on my iPod, and when people ask me what it is, I’ll have to say, “Oh it’s from this blogger girl I’ve never met”? Never thought I’d see the day when I’d have Internet friends, but I do love it.
Thanks for the music! We’re experiencing the best weather of the year so far in this area over the weekend, so I’m super pumped and plan to head to a local park tomorrow for a picnic and some frisbee with my boyfriend tomorrow. And as far as your suggestion to go for a walk barefoot? I crossed that one of my list today while walking home from class; my new flats were absolutely killing my feet, so I said eff it and took them off. I got some strange looks, but I was comfortable and thrilled that walking barefoot was even an option! Especially considering two weeks ago the sidewalks were still covered in snow!
Hope you have a great, relaxing weekend!
I, unfortunately, have a school laden weekend. However, my newest Elle and Vogue magazines arrived yesterday, so I will be definitely taking a magazine break on the bench in the sun. Also, probably going back to the best brunch spot we have found in Philadelphia, a fantastic Greek place. Not your ordinary brunch fare, but so damn flavorful – plus, they have french press coffee, which is my favorite. Your music list will probably be my study music this weekend, so thanks for all the good tunes. Have a great time with your mama!
Tomorrow getting off my ass and biking the little one around in the trailer—school garden party in the AM then going out for brunch @ crepeville since I am addicted to the california crepe. Other than that we’ll see where the wind blows. I just painted one half of the kitchen “semolina” color! Now am wiped out, going to veg and re-rewatch Rachel getting married, again. Love that movie. Hope you hava a nice weekend, you sound busy but with all good things! K.
