I loved Zoe’s dress too. I must strenuously disagree about SJP and Diane Kruger though. Honestly something about that fabric and dress shape just makes me think, JCPenneys nightgown.

I’m totally with you on all of your “Instead Of” selections, especially Charlize Theron since she does bold colors so well ( I disliked her entire look the year that she won her Oscar…bland monotone). Cameron Diaz really looked fabulous both during and after the event, and I just love to see what Diane Kruger will show up wearing for each red carpet appearance. I think that Nicole Kidman c.2000 could have rocked the heck out of that buttery Chanel, but SJP just didn’t have the presence for the look. Miley Cyrus looked uncomfortable in her dress since it was too small/low in the bustline, but it was a pretty dress overall.

However, I didn’t feel like anyone was really bringing it this year. It’s the Academy Awards. Unless you are Ms. Streep, you aren’t there every year–go for it. That said, my all-time favorite Oscar dress was this:

I agree with almost all of this. Cannot really understand the love for Carey’s dress. I LOVE Maggie’s Dries but I feel like there are fit issues, or she just has the longest torso in the world and needed some jewelry or something. Your style suggestions are vast improvements — J.Lo should put you on payroll.

I loved Zoe’s dress. I know a lot of people didn’t but I loved the colors and thought it was fun and different. I liked Miley’s dress but it did not fit her. If she stood up straight she would be falling out of it. It would not have hurt her to go a size up.

I want Rachel McAdams’ dress. Its so beautiful, flowing and ethereal.

I’ve seen a lot of comments like yours about Anna Kendrick’s dress. I was one of the few who loved it. I think it looked beautiful on her! However, I totally agree with you about Kristin Stewart. Your choice for her looks amazing. She should give that one a go for her next big award ceremony. ;)
