Little Tavi (that sounds condescending, but I can’t help myself, and she is little) has spoken up in response to the bru ha ha surrounding the style bloggers v editors debate and Hatgate 2010.
On bloggers v editors…
Collaboration, not competition. Always!
On snooty journalists…
…I do expect that they’re professional, don’t jump to conclusions, and don’t decide that they know the truth to something they haven’t even asked about.
On unsolicited opinions about her parent’s decision making and her schooling…
…my parents and I are the ones who know my school’s absences policy, how my teachers feel about my missing school, and what my grades look like — not anyone else.
On her being too young to travel to shows…
…If we really want to bring it up, can we talk about models that travel without guardians?
On the Grazia editor who bitched about her hat…
…I’m going to New York on Saturday. I will be wearing some more hats. If you happen to be sitting behind me and you’d like to be able to see, just ask
She also quotes Roger Ebert, and is therefore awesome.

I love her gumption. At that age, I was super-sensitive and probably would have broken down in hysterics to have journalists and fashion editors bitching about me. I don’t read her blog regularly, but at her age to be so self-assured and outgoing is pretty fantastic, and for grown adults to whine about her makes them seem awfully immature and petty.
Whoa, how have I missed this girl till now??!! She is fucking spectacular. I have just spent the past 3 hours reading through her blog. Um I know it’s not heaps possible since I’m almost 26, but I want to be her when I grow up.
