I love the shorter blunt cut. I think it's very current and would look gorgeous on you.

I agree with one of the previous comments - short hair is actually bitchier to manage than long hair BUT for some reason, I cut my hair really short recently and my hair, which has always had a wavy/curling up at the ends sort of thing, is keeping itself flat after I sleep on it + liberal amounts of Dove shampoo & mask.

I'm pretty sure you're not on lj, but you could get an account just to access this community:
http://community.livejournal.com/hairspiration/
Basically a place where people post pics of hair that inspire them. TONS of good stuff, especially in wayy earlier posts.

Anyhoo, good luck!

What a cute blog, I will have to start visiting!

The cut is cute, although I would probably wear the bangs straight and leave it a tad bit longer (just above the shoulders, maybe).

I can relate. I have had bangs for over a year, I get them cut and then I have bangs then they start growing out and I get apathetic and let it happen then I decide I want bangs again. Recently (about 1 month) I got my hair cut just at shoulder length, it was so long, about what yours is in the picture and I was just over it and thought it looked so blah in every picture. Eh. I like the shorter cut just ok. I'm not making any good suggestions sorry. I'm in a hair rut. I would also like to experiment more with color but my hair is dark as well and its such a bitch to keep up.

can you try that downloadable software where you can paste different haircuts on yourself? I am afraid to cut my hair since it grows so slowly, but it's hard to find a "style" with longer hair....if you are going with one of the AC cuts, I would recommend #2 or #3, I think the first length is really hard to pull off if your face is round or full. I also like the above suggestion of darker auburn highlights in winter, maybe dark blonde/golden in summer. maybe you can just start with longer layers around your face?

I actually saved that center photo of Alexa a few months ago as inspiration for my next haircut, which I still haven't gotten around to doing. My hair is really long and thick, and I think long layers starting around chin length always look good. I also ask for the ends cut in a V-shape rather than straight across in the back, I think my hair hangs better when the ends aren't too blunt.

Personally, I think it looks gorgeous the way it is. But if you want a change....

(PSA: I am not a stylist. My best friend is, and while she cuts my hair, I have learned how to do all my own color. She gets me the supplies I can't get from Sally, and I do it myself. That's how I can afford to keep my dark, dark hair platinum blonde)

I like the top photo the best. I think with longer hair, if you want the roll & go option, you need softer layers, as opposed to the blunter cut Alexa has in the bottom pictures. Too bad you aren't in the Indy area. I have a friend who is freaking amazing with long, stylish cuts.

Medium to dark blonde highlights always look great with dark hair (you can keep them neutral, warm them up a bit with a touch of red, or cool them off with a violet base), and the thin, foiled ones grow out the best when you can't afford to spend $$$ on touchups every month.

To get be able to roll out of bed in the morning, not washing frequently is the way to go. Rinse every couple days with just conditioner, and wash maybe once a week. It allows the oils in your hair to keep it soft and far more manageable, without letting it get smelly :).

To be honest, I've always had more trouble with Alexa's cut than with long hair (I had incredibly thick, slightly wavy hair). You can't just roll out of bed with it because it always looks messy instead of "sexily mussed up", if you know what I mean. So then you start using product to tame it a bit and you end up looking like an extra on 90210.
I also have a round face and when my hair is a bit lank, it makes me look like a hamster. But light highlights could be a nice change, no?
