Who Are Your Fame Crushes?

by Penny on August 11, 2009

We all have them, who are yours? I don’t crush in a hard-core way….I was never a girl with posters on my wall and I don’t fantasize about famous men. I do, however, have crushes. And here they are….

My Ultimate Crush: Gary Oldman

He is my extreme crush, I absolutely love him and think he’s the sexiest man alive. I think, when it comes down to it, it’s what my boss refers to as…..”danger….DANGER.” He’s played Sid Vicious, Dracula and Beethoven. I mean, it doesn’t get much better. Plus, he has sad eyes, which I dig.

My Musician Crushes: Mos Def & Diplo

Diplo falls into the danger category, like Gary. Plus, I like dirty DJs. Mos Def is just cute as hell and makes some damn good music.

My From Another Era Crush: Robert Plant

Find me one woman who didn’t want to bone him in the 70′s. Also, Led Zeppelin is my all-time favorite band.

My Character Crush: Gregory House

He’s an asshole. Yes, I am that obvious.

My Obvious Crush: Ewan McGregor

I think this is what did me in…..(there are some NSFW bits)

My Political Crush: Bill Clinton

I could also file this under an obvious crush. He’s so damn brilliant and has this totally irresistible charm.

My Sexually Ambiguous Crush: David Bowie

What’s scary? One of my best friends looks JUST like Bowie. Too bad he’s married and we never got a chance to make out.

My Chef Crush: Anthony Bourdain

I can’t help myself. He made me feel so naughty about using a garlic press.

Yay for crushes…I was the poster girl back in the day (Corey Haim and then Joey from NKOTB). But now (using your categories):

1. My ultimate crush: Javier Bardem. I really don’t think I need to elaborate on him.

2. Musicians: I will agree with Mos Def (so talented, so beautiful), but I also crush hard on Common and Peter Loeffler from Chevelle. Peter is probably number one.

3. Another era: Old-school Brando, circa Mutiny on the Bounty. Dirty and delicious.

4. Character Crush: Seely Booth. I have a strange addiciton to “Bones” (and of course, Mr. Boreanaz), and Seely is the right mix of cockiness, charm, swagger, and goodness.

5. Obvious Crush: Gael Garcia Bernal. Those eyes. Dios mios (and, I don’t even care that he is like 5’6″ and tiny).

6. Political Crush: Rahm Emanuel

7. Sexually Ambiguous Crush: Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (thank you Velvet Goldmine)

8. Chef crush: Eric Ripert

Ooh I like this game! Here are mine…

1. My ultimate crush: Clive Owen – tall, dark, handsome, British.

2. Musicians: I agree with Mos Def – hot! But I would also go in another direction and say Chris Cornell. I was a huge Soundgarden girl back in the day, and he gets even better with age!

3. Another era: Brando (Streetcar Named Desire era), Paul Newman, Robert Redford of course. Also JFK. (Sorry I couldn’t pick just one!)

4. Character Crush: Chuck Bass courtesy of Gossip Girl. A little embarassing considering I am in my 30s, but I love it.

5. Obvious Crush: Jon Hamm – first on Mad Men and then showing a different side in 30 Rock – yummy.

6. Political Crush: Rahm Emanuel (so forceful!). I’d also include John Stewart here, even though he’s not a politician. I guess talking about politics counts?!

7. Sexually Ambiguous Crush: Jake Gylenhaal courtesy of Brokeback Mountain

8. Chef crush: Jamie Oliver – the cuteness, the accent, and the cooking all do it for me.

I’d also like to add Unexplained Crush. Mine would be Ed Helms (from the Office and the Hangover). That kind of dorky/smart/underdog thing always does it for me.

My crushes!

Ultimate: Robert Downey Jr. Handsome (but with an edge), witty, and got me to watch Ally McBeal again after abandoning it for being too silly.

Musician: John Legend. A velvet voice that matches well with a very dapper exterior.

Another era: Cary Grant.

Character crush: Don Draper, because I want to know if he lives up to the reputation Bobbie hints at.

Obvious Crush: Clive Owen, because the fact that I found him unbelivably attractive in Children of Men says a lot.

Political Crush: Jon Stewart.

Sexually Ambiguous Crush: Ed Westwick (do you not see what he wears on Gossip Girl some episodes?)

Chef Crush: Tom Colicchio.

I don’t really get crushes on famous people either but I do love Gary Oldman. I just re-watched Dracula a couple weeks ago, so many makeout scenes…

hmmm….I had a HUGE crush on River Phoenix back in the day. oh! I have an odd attraction to Snoop Dogg. Its weird.

Oh and definitely Paul Newman from the another era category. So goddamn sexy.

Fun Game!

Here are mine – they may be out of left field…

Ultimate: Zachary Quinto and Nathan Fillion. Both are really hard to watch on TV with the boyfriend in the room…

Musician: Ben Harper. Oh man.

Another era: James Dean, Rock Hudson. Watching Giant is really fun for me…

Character crush: Jesse from Gilmore Girls.

Obvious Crush: Liev Shrieber. His voice, oh his voice…

Political Crush: Sam Adams, Portland’s mayor. He may be gay but that hasn’t stopped me yet. Clearly.

Sexually Ambiguous Crush: Agness Deyn. (forgive me for misspelling the name…)

Chef Crush: Gordon Ramsey, as he is on The F Word. Not that trype, Hell’s Kitchen.

Random (I just have to add it): Kevyn Aucoin, the makeup artist. He’s like my idol.

But in reality, I kinda crush on the boyfriend hard core. I can’t help it. I’m just like that…

Love this post. I don’t usually crush on really light blondes, but Alexander Skarsgard, both in person and in character on True Blood, has me captivated lately. Don’t think I can fill all the categories, but James Franco, James McAvoy, Edward Norton and Robert Downey, Jr. all rank highly with me.

I am with you on the David Bowie crush. I remember seeing Labyrinth as a kid and being oddly attracted to the androgyny.

My other crushes…Ryan Gosling, Taye Diggs, Clive Owen, and Gabriel Aubry

ps. I once rode an elevator with Mos Def. He was kind of uncomfortably shifting his weight and holding a skateboard. His mannerisms made me think he’s maybe a shy and humble guy.
