It’s HOT here. It’s been in the 90′s. The 90′s! I really dislike the heat, but am thankful that in Northern California, we have dry heat. I’ll take that over a hot and humid east coast in the summer any day!
Anyone who’s been to Portland, OR knows that one of the best places to soak up the sun is Jamison Square, especially if you have kids. The Posh Mom just posted some sweet photos from a recent visit to the square with her little ones. I figured this was a great opportunity to introduce you to TPM, who is a good, and incredibly stylish, friend. She currently resides in Portland with her awesome British hubby and two girls, but we worked together for a few years here in Northern California. In the past year she’s been working to launch a kids clothing line and I’ve been lucky enough to be involved, designing her logo and working on some branding. I am super excited for the launch and can’t wait to share her first collection with you. Check out her blog, it’s lots of fun.
Those of you without a Jamison Square in your lives…..how do you stay cool in the heat? Personally, I make like a cat and park myself near an AC vent.

It has been super hot here in SoCal. Although I keep reminding myself that it is nowhere as hot as it is going to get this summer. I expect it will be about 102 here today. Luckily the house stays pretty cool (thank you double pane windows and great installation!) and we have dark curtains to keep the sun out. I’m also guessing that the dogs are happy that I am unemployed and staying at home because it means that they get to be in the cool house all day.
I’m from the humid humid south and I don’t buy the “dry heat” thing. I’ve been to “dry heat” places like Arizona and Colorado in the summer, and from what I can tell, hot is hot. You know what else has dry heat? Ovens. They’ll still cook ya.
Thanks for the shout out!! It was 80 degrees here in sunny Portland and we are loving it!
